"After twenty years of being a prisoner to these things, He liberated me. It was a miracle."
Place of Origin: Khampat No.1, Burma
I was born in Burma in 1975. My family was Roman Catholic, but we didn't know about salvation in Jesus Christ. In 1996 I left Burma and made my way to Malaysia because of the army and the danger to my life. In Malaysia, I got married to my wife Mary, who was from the same village in Burma. It was hard to live in Malaysia because I was an illegal refugee. I even spent a few months in jail. But God was able to change my life. With my wife and two daughters, we moved to the U.S. in 2008, where we had two more girls and now, praise God, a boy!
Transformative Story: God changed my life by answering the prayers of my wife. When Mary and I fell in love, I had problems with drinking and drugs. My friends and I would spend all our money on alcohol. After we got married, I would be out drinking and smoking with my friends, and she would stay in her room pleading with God for me to change. After nine months, God answered her prayers. We spent five nights studying the Bible with a pastor. After those nights, I totally accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. He healed me and set me free from drugs and drinking and smoking. After twenty years of being a prisoner to these things, He liberated me. It was a miracle. After I was born again, I became an example of God to my wife and children, and a leader in my community. I share the Gospel with everyone in my life. The Holy Spirit continues to guide me to be a better person.
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come. The old has gone, the new is here!" - 2 Corinthians 5:17
