Small Group Ministries
One of the problems that many churches face is that the Sunday morning
service does not provide enough time or opportunity for people to really
connect with one another or the ministry. Small Groups are an excellent
way of making those connections. Within the Small Groups, individuals
have opportunity to meet others who share similar interests and goals.
New Life’s ultimate Small Group Ministry goal is to provide a friendly
atmosphere that will encourage growth, both personally and spiritually.
We encourage you to take a look at what's going on and become part of
the New Life community.
If you have questions, please call the church office, 408.978.1658 or
e-mail us at office@newlifesanjose.org
Current Small Group Ministries:
Sunday Evening Bible Study:
How Could God Allow Suffering and Evil?
- Where did Evil come from?
- Why do innocent people suffer?
- Why doesn't God do something?
- Is the Devil for Real?
- How could a loving God send people to hell?
- Is there Really a Heaven?
On Sunday evenings this fall, we are exploring these tough
questions. These are reasonable questions that we and our friends wrestle
with. Come and Join us on Sunday evenings as we franly discuss these questions
and look at what the scripture teaches. Feel free to Invite your Friends!

Cruisers
The Cruisers are a group of retirees who travel together to ports of
call throughout the world through the Golden Gate Geographic Society’s
films at the Mountain View Center for Performing Arts and various senior
events at local churches and community centers. Whether to Asia, Europe,
or the South Pacific, the Cruisers enjoy the fellowship of new and long-time
friendships as they learn about these locales and often share a meal together
after the cruise or event. To join the Cruisers at their next event, contact
Bev Ashton (Bev3102@aol.com).
Lunch Bunch
Lunch Bunch at the King Library began in May 2006. We began with a few
women from our church doing a couple of Becky Pippert studies on Jesus.
Each of us invited colleagues/friends to the Bible discussion. The questions
were open-ended and thus, it was so intriguing to hear the diverse responses.
Since that time, the small group has grown to include several more San
Jose community members who work or go to school nearby. Although the meetings
are swift (less than an hour), there is no doubt that God joins us in
these special times and continues to transforms us into His Son's likeness.

Half-Timers
Half-Timers is comprised of couples and individuals in their 40’s through
60s whose children are older and who wish to gather monthly for fellowship
and to deepen relationships within the New Life congregation. For more
information or to attend the next gathering, contact Debbie Munns (munns1@apple.com).
Wednesday Morning Ladies Bible Study
The Wednesday Morning Ladies Bible Study is the oldest continually-functioning
small group at New Life. The group is diverse and multi-generational,
with ladies in their 40s through their 90s participating. The ladies meet
weekly to share time together in God’s word, in prayer for one another
and their community, and they share the joys and struggles of each other’s
lives with one another, sometimes providing a ride or a meal, sometimes
sharing a birthday cake. Always sharing Christ’s love with one another
and the congregation. To learn more or join the group, contact Pastor
Kevin Budd (kevinbudd@newlifesanjose.org)

Young Women’s Bible Study
The focus of this group is for the young women and leaders to become
good friends in Christ so they might become accountable to one another
in their walk with God. Each week, the women read five chapters of the
Bible and come prepared to talk about whatever struck them in the section
or raised questions that they’d like to explore together. In addition,
they explore different ways of praying and offer a safe place for the
girls to raise questions about topics such as Salvation. To learn more
about this group, contact Christy Wold (christywold@yahoo.com).

New Life’s Small Group Ministry will continue to grow as individuals

in Christ.
